How can halloween get you out of stuck

Are you stuck finding the right costume for you or the children for Halloween?

All hallows eve (halloween) is the night before All Saint’s Day, a time for praying for and remembering those souls who died. Here is a Who will you be?suggestion from my friend Bonnie. She just posted on Facebook that she was going to get an old Tshirt and write life on it and get a basket of lemons for the day. I wonder what the lemonade will taste like?

Depending on the history you check out, the door knocking part came from beggars seeking soul cakes to pray for the soul of the dead in the household.

My husband remembers as a child that knocking on the doors, the one who answered the door decided if the knocker needed to do a trick or was given a treat.

Get out of Stuck at Halloween?

How can you use Halloween to get you out of stuck?

Halloween give you the opportunity, for a few hours, to be act like anyone in the world you want to emulate.

Acting as a hero you admire.

Pretending to be a famous person living or dead but one who believe is special

Becoming something fictitious – a superhero or a super villain, a demon or a saint

The opportunity to experience, without looking foolish, what it would be like to be someone else, can truly help you change your point of view and get out of stuck. But remember, it is more than putting on a costume. It is about putting on a persona. It is about becoming the person you want to be for the day.

I saw an example of how this works in Victoria’s Secret in LA the day before Halloween a few years ago. My husband and were watching 5 young ladies try on these outfits. Suddenly one of them dressed as a sex  kitten  asked her bunny rabbit  friend, ” Do I look as sexy as I feel I do??”

If she had asked my husband I am sure he would have told her just how sexy she looked, if he could get any saliva flowing that is.

She dressed like a sex kitten and she felt the part and looked it too.

Making Every Day Halloween to Keep you out of stuck

Every day we get to choose how we want to look, act and behave. Every day whether we wear a special costume or not we can excel or be a witch, bitch or demon. We choose how we look at the world and we also choose how we want the world to look at us.

Today you are who you believe you are.

Today you can become anyone you want.

The rewards for being that person may take time to come. And if tomorrow you decide to be someone else, the rewards may never come.

You will never collect the rewards when you keep changing day to day who you are.

Keep your purpose and vision clear. Act on purpose to achieve your vision. And remember, today is the only thing you have so be all you want to be today.

In the comment box, tell me who you are today.

Hmm. So. you believe in “Dress for Success”….
Actually, there’s a lot of merit in that concept; our “uniform” reminds of the persona we wish to project.

It’s always about how you feel and the attitude you have when you dress a particular way Roy. Power clothing seems to give people power and makes them seem powerful

I remember as a young working woman dressing up with a friend as ghosts for Halloween. We visited taverns near our area. Since no one knew us, we could be as silly and bold as we wanted to be; it was a really fun night!
I hear often from the big guns of business asking the question, “Who do you need to be to be successful?” I hope that most will answer “myself,” yet understand that a few of us need to go to a place where we muster up the nerve and courage to do what we do best.
    Trick or treat?

Thanks Peggy Lee for the insight. Yes myself would be a great answer but I know that when I dress certain ways, wear certain colours, have my hair done, I feel differently. Putting on a uniform or costume to feel better about yourself so that you can be all you can be is often a major step in becoming that person.

I’ve always hated halloween parties, don’t ask me why, I had some bad experiences. But I’ve never thought about it from this point of view. Thanks for the inspirational thoughts, i think i’m going to give it a try.

Zsanett, a bad experience can colour our thoughts of many things but live is about living and sometimes it is easier to dress up as someone else every day in order to move forward and excel. At least when one pretends to be a different persona, they get out of stuck and can move on. And one day they wake up and find themselves transformed
